Drink on the beach: The 5 most requested cocktails

22/09/2021

Summer is undoubtedly the best season to enjoy excellent cocktails by the sea with the warmth of the sun on your skin.

Among the best cocktails to drink on the beach there are several classics in the panorama of mixology but also less known drinks. The common thread is freshness, drinks that are consumed with pleasure and give at least some relief from the heat of summer.

Through the requests made by the customers of the Boca Beach in Sanremo we have decided to select the 5 most consumed cocktails during the summer season:

  1. Spritz

With its unmistakable color, this cocktail is now famous all over the world as the undisputed king of the aperitif. Light and with a low alcohol content, Spritz is easy and quick to prepare even at home to enjoy a moment of relaxation.

The cocktail is of Venetian origin, it seems to have been born in the nineteenth century thanks to the soldiers of the Austrian Empire who, not accustomed to the high alcohol content of Venetian wines, had taken the habit of diluting them with sparkling water. The name spritz derives from the verb spritzen which means to sprinkle and indicates the gesture of extending the drink

  1. Piña Colada

It is impossible to go on a beach holiday, feeling the sand between your toes and the sea breeze that intoxicates your hair without indulging in a Pina Colada! A tropical blend of white rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice.

It's spicy and sweet and often served with a small paper umbrella to complete the look.

  1. Mojito

As one of the most popular summer cocktails in the world, we are sure that you have all tried it at least once in your life or at least have heard of it. Blending white rum, lime juice, sparkling water and fresh mint, this traditional Cuban cocktail is the perfect balance of sweetness and delicious fizz.

  1. Caipirinha

Caipirinha, a drink from Brazil made with cachaça, sugar and lime. In the country of South America it is considered a national cocktail and is perhaps the drink that most reflects the "beach drink", considering that it is found in practically every beach bar in the world.

  1. Margarita

Margarita is perfect to drink all year round, but has an added touch when enjoyed in the summer months. This classic cocktail blends tequila, lime, Triple Sec or Cointreau and can be served with a dash of salt to enhance the sweet-spicy flavor.

There are other versions of the classic Margarita, the most popular being Tommy's margarita which replaces the Triple Sec with agave syrup for a deliciously sweet taste.
